Synopsis

"Happily ever after" takes on new meaning as Katrina goes in search of her Prince, held captive by an evil Troll Princess in a dreary castle east of the sun and west of the moon. Katrina's journey brings her to the homes of three wise women who share hilarious stories—complete with marriage-minded mares and a nose three ells long—of how they have found contentment by "doing what pleases others," "doing what pleases me," or "doing nothing at all." With their guidance and a boost from the Four Winds, Katrina defeats the Troll Princess and rescues the Prince. The adventure concludes with a surprising promise guaranteed to please audiences of all ages.

Review by Delynn LeJong, W. S. Permenter Middle School, Cedar Hill, TX
"It was a delightful short play for children that combined a number of well-known folk tales that were entertaining for adults to revisit. It's great for elementary-school students because it isn't prop- or costume-heavy."
