Bud gets into all sorts of trouble along the way in this story, filled with uncanny wisdom, which offers a set of hilarious "Rules and Things" designed to help our resilient young hero navigate a world of confusing expectations. Rich with adventure and humor, Bud, Not Buddy is a coming-of-age tale for young and old alike. The novel also won the Coretta Scott King Award.

Media Reviews
"Hitch a ride on this compelling journey … enormous fun even at its most poignant. Reginald André Jackson handily adapts the Newbery Medal-winning novel by Curtis into a vivacious theatrical amalgam of narration and action … The play sweeps us along, interweaving Bud's touching and comic journey with the mottoes he concocts and fond memories of his deceased mother [and] is eventful enough to keep adolescents and adults intrigued." -The Seattle TimesProduction Map
