Synopsis
Betty overhears her mother phoning that George is going to give Rose a ring. Betty tells Sally, who secretly adores George and is heartbroken. Betty hints that George has trifled with the love of a sweet girl. Aunt Hattie and Lucretia add to the tale and shortly a lovely girl is reported to be dying—all because of fickle George! Rose is stunned. Mother returns and explains it's a ring on the telephone that Rose is to get.
