Synopsis

Lift Every Voice, which is based on a true story, explores the impact of racism in an urban high school. When the class president of an elite inner-city high school posts a racially inflammatory message on social media, tensions explode, loyalties are tested and long-simmering resentments boil over as the six members of the student council grapple with the fallout and how to move forward.

Customer Reviews

"This was a powerful show that worked very well on Zoom. The show addresses many facets of racism with subtlety and grace (there's a pun here if you've read the play), while hammering home its very poignant message about systemic oppression. I also used the play as a teaching tool in my theatre class and many of the teachers have used our production to start valuable conversations with their students."
