Synopsis

Mother, Mother: The Many Mothers of Maude follows Maude Adams, the most celebrated American actress of the 19th century, and her mother, Annie Adams, an actress who never found celebrity. Media Reviews

“Julie Jensen … always succeeds in crafting a credible fictional narrative with a scrupulous eye toward framing the script’s framework with historical accuracy.” —The Utah Review

“Mordantly funny.” —Artists of Utah

“Jensen also shines a light on a broader topical question, which typically is not discussed publicly among those in the arts and creative communities. The stories of the successful and the most accomplished and heralded figures in the field are well known. But, what about the stories of those such as Annie Adams, who persevered despite being relegated to the shadows and wings of the theatrical world.” —The Utah Review

“The heart of Mother, Mother remains anchored in the tug of war between what women dream of doing, and what they feel ‘allowed’ to do.” —Salt Lake City Weekly
