Lisa
Dillman is a
Chicago-identified playwright whose plays include Ground, Rock Shore,
American Wee Pie, Half of Plenty, The Walls, No Such
Thing, Six Postcards, Flung, Shady Meadows and Just
Cause (cowriter). Her work has been produced by Steppenwolf Theatre Company,
Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Theater Company, Station Theatre, Rogue
Machine Theatre, Seattle Public Theater, Tipping Point Theatre, Canamac
Productions and colleges and universities across the U.S. She has been
commissioned by Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre's Playwrights
Unit, Northlight Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble,
Canamac Productions and the Chicago Humanities Festival. She has developed work
at the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference, PlayPenn, the National New Play
Network, the William Inge Center for the Arts, ACT Contemporary Theatre and
many others. Dillman is a longtime company member of Chicago's Rivendell
Theatre Ensemble, where her plays American Wee Pie, The Walls, Chiaroscuro
and Shady Meadows had their world premieres. Her work has been published
by Samuel French/Concord Theatricals and Dramatic Publishing, as well as
anthologized in collections from Heinemann, Playscripts Inc., Smith & Kraus
and New Issues Press.
