Claudia Haas has been writing plays, primarily for teens, for more than 20 years. She has been honored with first place in the Anna Zornio Children's Theatre Playwriting Award competition and first place in the Aurand Harris Memorial Playwriting Award competition. She was also a finalist in the 2007 Bonderman Symposium at the Indiana Repertory Theatre and received two first-place honors from the Jackie White Memorial National Children's Playwriting Contest. Haas' play Under a Midsummer Moon received a residency from the Playwrights in Our Schools project administered by the American Alliance for Theatre & Education. Other honors include Prince George Children's Theatre contest winner, the Nantucket Short Play Festival (second place) and the Marilyn Hall Awards (second place). Her plays have had more than 700 productions in every state in the United States as well as abroad. Haas' 10-minute plays have had more than 100 productions worldwide. Wish You Were Here won the honor of Audience Favorite at the Eastbound Theatre Summer Festival in Milford, Conn., and Angel Kiss in Left Field won Best in Festival at Play n Well Players' One-Act Play Festival in Plainwell, Mich.
