Scott Elmegreen

Scott Elmegreen is a playwright, songwriter and author. His play Straight (Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, off-Broadway) was named a New York Times Critics' Pick for its "smart [and] bracing" writing "brimming with clever wisecracks and thought-provoking observations." Other works for theatre include Tiananmen (Feinstein's/54 Below; The D-Lounge), Vote For Me: A Musical Debate (Roy Arias Stages, off-Broadway; London Theatre Workshop), COLLEGE The Musical (Hippodrome State Theatre), Thucydides (Samuel French Off Off Broadway Play Festival winner), Ivy + Bean, The Musical, based on the New York Times bestselling book series ("A wry, rollicking show with infectious spirit and a breathless energy that thoroughly enchants" -The New York Times; national tour; Atlantic Theatre Company, off-Broadway; Bay Area Children's Theatre; South Coast Repertory), Magic School Bus, Live! His orchestrations are featured in 'S Wonderful: The New Gershwin Musical (national tour) and many of his own musicals. He is the author of four novels and a graduate of Princeton University.
