Sachi Oyama

Sachi Oyama's first play, Oyako_shinju: Deathbound, was read over National Public Radio on "The Play's the Thing" series, produced by Los Angeles Theatre Works. One-acts produced in Los Angeles are Day Care at LATC, Boat at Deaf West, Kampuchea at Barnsdall Park, and The Painter at The Complex, where she first worked with Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey artistic director Joseph Megel. Co-authorships include Tryst, performed at Cal Arts and Endangered Species at Interact. Yearnings, a full length, was presented at East West Players in 1996. Rowing to America: The Immigrant Project happily renews her working relationship with Joseph Megel and provides her first playwriting experience on the East Coast.
