Rebecca Gorman O’Neill was born in Akron, Ohio, and left at age 17 to attend Dartmouth College. When she won the Eleanor Frost Playwriting Contest her junior year, she was relieved to have an excuse to stop acting. O’Neill went on to earn her master’s in dramatic writing from Carnegie Mellon University. Her original plays have been produced across the United States and in Canada, and her plays Tell-Tale and The Greater Good are published through Eldridge Publishing and Next Stage Press, respectively. In Denver, she is proud to work with the And Toto Too Theatre Company and the Athena Project. O’Neill is a professor of English at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she teaches playwriting, screenwriting, cinema studies and the graphic novel. She is forever grateful to her father, who taught her how to tell stories, and to her mother, who gave her the patience to write them down.
