Ralph Covert has co-written (with G. Riley Mills) two adult dramas: Sawdust and Spangles and Streeterville, both Chicago premieres earning Jeff citations for "Best New Work;" The Flower Thieves, "a rock 'n' roll circus fable;" musicals for younger audiences including the oft-produced A Nutty Nutcracker Christmas and Hansel & Gretel. Two of their plays have been turned into hardcover illustrated books. Covert is renowned for his creation of and performing in RalphÕs World, the kids' rock phenomenon (nine CDs on Disney Sound, a Grammy nomination, videos, books and nationwide tours). He first came to international acclaim with his still-active indie rock band, The Bad Examples. Commissioned musical works include pieces for modern dance, major commercials, museums and an extensive series of language-learning songs for Disney's schools abroad. He has served as an advisor with several parenting organizations, most actively on NARAS' National Education Committee.
