Quiara Alegría Hudes (book and lyrics) received the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play Water by the Spoonful. Other plays include Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue (Pulitzer finalist) and The Happiest Song Plays Last. Hudes wrote the book for the Broadway hit musical In the Heights, which received the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical and was also a Pulitzer finalist.
