Michele Markarian is a Massachusetts writer whose works include fiction, sketch comedy and plays. Her short works, including Old Friends and Eight-Minute Dating Man, have appeared in several New England Festivals, among them The Firedog Theatre Inc.'s Staged Readings Series and the Devanaughn Theater's Annual Dragonfly Festival. She has collaborated on other stage works with The Common/wealth Theater Collaborative, The Newbury Street Theater and Ace Theatricals. Her full-length play, I Enjoy Being a Girl (co-written with Anne Pluto), was commissioned in 2002 by Lesley University for their Women's History Month. It was also performed in 2003 at The Firehouse Centre's New Works Festival in Newburyport, Mass. She is a member of The Dramatists Guild.
