Malcolm MacDonald is a Southern California writer, artist and educator. His latest play, Laguna Beach, Ohio, premiered in March 2016 as a winner of the AACT NewPlayFest. His one-act play, Ant in Pant, was selected and performed at Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s 2016 10 Minute Play Contest. His most popular play, Coyote’s Christmas Carol, won the Marilyn Hall Award and is published by Playscripts, Inc. Coyote's Christmas Carol continues to be performed around the world and is now a children's book, illustrated by MacDonald. It has also been translated into Spanish. MacDonald’s play the beetles, developed in a month-long workshop with Lanford Wilson, played to raves in Los Angeles and Chicago, and his screenplay of the beetles was a semi-finalist at the Austin Film Festival. MacDonald is a member of The Dramatists Guild.
