Leslie B. Gold (The Ger) has spent most of her life in the theatre backstage as a stage manager, casting director, literary manager and producer for Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Vineyard Theatre, Theatre for the New City, and The American Jewish Theatre in New York, and in public relations and marketing at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. At the Walnut, she moved onstage as an actor in Theatre Ariel's Teible and Her Demon (Genendel). Gold also appeared in Theatre Ariel's first 10x10—as Sarah in Michael Elkin's Class Act and as the lively corpse in Julianne Bernstein's 'Til Death Do Us Plots. As an actor, Gold studied at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and the Groundlings in Los Angeles, but she found what she'd been searching for in her own backyard by studying Judaism with Aish Ha Torah in Los Angeles, then at She'arim College of Jewish Studies for Women in Jerusalem. Gold divides her time between her studies in Israel and teaching drama and playwriting while presently developing Out of My Head, a new one-woman show.
