Judith Weinstein

Judith Weinstein is the writer of the Emmy award-winning Sneakers, a children's musical produced on WPBT, Florida. She has had a long-standing interest in children and children's literature. Her first collaboration with Sunnie Miller and Elissa Schreiner was Once Upon a Vine, a feminist turn on the classic Jack and the Beanstalk, which was produced off-Broadway. Miller, Schreiner and Weinstein have since worked together on many projects specifically geared toward children. Pals, another musical, was also produced off-Broadway. Noodles, Oralis Dentalis, and an as yet untitled Hanukkah opera are among their works in progress. This is Weinstein's second career. Her first was as a merchandise coordinator for Seventeen Magazine. She has an associate's degree in merchandising from SUNY and a bachelor's degree in theatre arts from Queens College. Weinstein is a member of the Television Academy of New York and The Dramatists Guild. She has served as a judge for the Emmy awards and is currently at work on a screenplay.
