Joey Madia has more than 20 years of experience in the arts. He is a teaching artist who has appeared in and/or directed nearly 100 productions throughout the United States. He is artistic director of New Mystics Arts, managing social justice theatre companies in West Virginia and New Jersey as well as the artistic management of the Center for Arts and Education in Fairmont, W.V. His 15 plays for young audiences have been produced in 16 states and Nova Scotia, and his series of books on using theatre in the classroom as well as his workshops are helping teachers redefine learning. Madia has taught classes in theatre and creative writing for dozens of school and community organizations and has been a mentor to young artists from the United States and the United Kingdom. HeÕs been keynote speaker at several schools and appears on national conference panels on the arts. Madia is resident playwright for Youth Stages, LLC.
