Dr. James W. Rodgers (playwright, director, actor, author) has written a number of plays including several commissioned works for both the stage and television. It's a Wonderful Life, the musical, A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail and the play version of It's a Wonderful Life are all represented by Dramatic Publishing. Rodgers has directed more than 100 productions for professional, community, university and high-school theaters, several with professional actors including Dana Andrews, Kim Hunter, Kevin McCarthy, June Havoc and Pat Hingle. With his wife, Wanda, he is co-author of Play Director's Survival Kit, published by Simon & Schuster. He has been chair of theater departments at three universities and, for the past 24 years, professor of theater at the University of Kentucky.
