Héctor Martínez Morales is originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. He studied composition in the United States as well as in Paris, France. His works have been performed throughout the U.S. and Mexico. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras and lectured at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Tufts University; and the Istanbul Technical University in Turkey. He has received commissions from Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians and the American Composers Forum. Martínez Morales also has a performance background in Latin-American folk music and mariachi. Also a pianist, he has performed his own works at venues such as New York University. Martínez Morales is an educator and freelance composer based out of Boston.
