Finn Kobler is an award-winning poet, screenwriter and playwright from Southern California. Despite being born in Santa Clarita, he has been raised all over the country, spending the majority of his life helping his family’s nonprofit, Showdown Stage Company, mount original productions from the ground up. He has slept in walk-in closets and on air mattresses, calling everywhere from central Florida to rural Missouri “home,” and he has worked with actors of varying experience levels: from Oscar-winners to shy 8-year-olds who, prior to meeting him, had never stepped foot on a stage. He earned his bachelor’s degree in writing for screen/television from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he used his life-threatening brain aneurysms to shamelessly guilt the administration into awarding him the prestigious Jack Oakie Comedy Scholarship. He has been described by industry readers as a “fresh, original voice” with an ear for dialogue that’s “sharp and sparkling.” He has been described by his ex-girlfriend as “the fourth most attractive guy [she] ever dated, fifth if you factor in Brendan’s new haircut.”
