Emily Klion is a composer for The Third Wave Musical and director of The Marsh Youth Theater, San Francisco. She enjoys an illustrious career as a musical theatre director, producer and composer having created and composed for dozens of full-length youth musical theatre productions including Katherine Paterson's Jip, His Story; Starhawk's The Last Wild Witch, Truthtopia; The Ramayana; The Legend of Pele, Siddhartha, The Bright Path (performed in 2008 in India at the Tibetan Children's Village) and many others. Klion has received numerous awards for her musical theatre productions including Bay Area Critic's Circle, Hollywood Dramalogue (musical score of Tony Pellegrino's Deer Rose), Rex Foundation's Jerry Garcia Award for Promoting Creativity in Youth and Curtain Call's American Harmony Award for her musical theatre adaptation of Jip, His Story. Klion received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in music composition from Mills College. She lives in Berkeley, California, with her husband, saxophonist George Brooks, and three children.
