Donald Margulies is a familiar name at Actors Theatre of Louisville, where two of his plays, Dinner with Friends and July 7, 1994, debuted at previous Humana Festivals. His plays include Collected Stories (Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist), The Model Apartment (Obie Award, Drama-Logue Award), Sight Unseen (Obie Award, Dramatists Guild/Hull-Warriner Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist, a Burns Mantle "Best Play"), The Loman Family Picnic (a Burns Mantle "Best Play"), Found a Peanut, Pitching to the Star and What's Wrong With This Picture? His adaptation of Sholem Asch's Yiddish classic, God of Vengeance, recently premiered at A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle. He was awarded the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Dinner with Friends. He is a member of the council of The Dramatists Guild of America. Margulies lives with his wife and son in New Haven, Connecticut, where he teaches playwriting at Yale University.
