David Stanley Ford, author of The Interrogation of Nathan Hale (Dramatic Publishing) was a prizewinner in South Coast Repertory's sixth annual California Playwrights Competition with his first play, Too Good to Be True. Ford won a Bay Guardian Goldie Award in 1993 for his collaborations co-writing and directing with many notable San Francisco performers. Memory Tricks, with Marga Gomez, ran at New York's Public Theatre. Susan Van Allen's Jersey Girls had a long run in Los Angeles and off-Broadway. Charlie Varon's Rush Limbaugh in Night School won the 1995 American Theatre Critics and Will Glickman Awards and ran two months off-Broadway and a month in Washington, D.C. All of these collaborations won San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle Awards. Other play collaborations include Bill Talen's Political Wife (winner of the 1990 Will Glickman Award). Ford has also directed at regional theatres around the Bay area.
