Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, and now based in Seattle, Claire Zaslove earned her bachelor’s degree in English and theater studies from Yale University, followed by an M.F.A. in directing for theatre at the University of British Columbia. Her work includes Atlantis (2022), Rip! A Winkle in Time (2024), Strong Waters (2022), The Realm of Whispering Ghosts: If Truman Met Einstein (2012) and Hand in Hand … in Hand (2010). Zaslove’s approach to playwriting is informed by her background as a director and stage/screen actor. Her career spans from launching a fledgling theatre company as a new graduate to working professionally as a voiceover performer for radio and a dialogue coach for television. A longtime collaborator with director Arne Zaslove, she shares credits on translations of An Italian Straw Hat and The Imaginary Invalid (Normandy Press). Their partnership also led to two children and a shared passion for physical theatre that embraces the physicality of live actors and the music of text. Writing under the pseudonym K.C. Brown, Zaslove authored the nonfiction book What Do You Mean You Haven’t Seen—?, a love letter to classic movies designed to help families discover and share films that have shaped our cultural landscape. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
