Catherine Trieschmann’s plays include Crooked, How the World Began, The Most Deserving, One House Over and Holy Laughter. They have been produced off-Broadway at the Women’s Project Theater, in London at the Bush Theatre and with Out of Joint at the Arcola Theatre. Regionally, they have been produced at South Coast Repertory, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Geva Theatre Center, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble and more. Internationally, her plays have been seen in Canada, Australia, Ireland and Turkey. She has received commissions from South Coast Repertory, Manhattan Theatre Club, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Trieschmann is a recipient of the L. Arnold Weissberger Award and the Otis Guernsey New Voices in the American Theater Award from the William Inge Theater Festival, a two-time Edgerton Foundation New Play Award winner and was hailed by the The New York Times as having “a big, accomplished writer’s voice.” She wrote the screenplay for the film Angel’s Crest, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Pictures. She lives in a small town in Western Kansas.
