Carter Lewis was literary manager and playwright-in-residence at Geva Theatre in New York and co-founder and resident playwright for Upstart Stage in Berkeley, Calif. His works have been produced by Syracuse Stage, Arizona Theatre Company, the Barter Theatre, Virginia Stage, the Bershire Theatre Festival, Florida Stage, Studio Arena Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre in London, among others. He has won the Julie Harris-Beverly Hills Theatre Guild Playwriting Award, the Lois and Richard Rosenthal New Play Prize, the L. Arnold Weissberger New Dramatists Playwriting Award, and has been a two-time nominee for the American Theatre Crititcs Award. His published work includes Soft Click of the Switch (Samuel French), An Asian Jockey In Our Midst (Meriwether Publishing, Ltd.) and The One-Eyed Man is King (Smith and Kraus).
