Amie Brockway-Henson is producing artistic director of The Open Eye Theater, a not-for-profit professional company working in and with the community and specializing in the development and production of new plays for all ages. Acclaimed plays she has been instrumental in developing at The Open Eye include A Woman Called Truth by Sandra Fenichel Asher, Silkie by Laurie Brooks Gollobin and And the Tide Shall Cover the Earth by Norma Cole. Her own adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey toured extensively throughout the New York metropolitan area. She teaches playwriting with Writers in the Mountains in Delaware County, New York, and is a former editor of TYA Today, past co-president of the League of Professional Theater Women/NY, and a member of The Dramatists Guild and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Brockway-Henson and her husband, Richard, and their animals, Molly, Moxie and LeBlanc, live on a mountaintop in Margaretville, New York.
