Althos Low (Steve Pickering) is an actor, director and playwright based in Chicago. He is a Goodman Theatre creative partner and project manager for Shanghai Low Theatricals (SLT), an adaptation development group, and he is a 2016 Ten Chimneys Foundation Lunt-Fontanne Fellow. As an actor, Low has appeared on Broadway, off-Broadway, at Shakespeare in the Park in New York City, in the West End of London and at regional theatres across the United States. His recent SLT adaptations (often in collaboration with company members) include George Orwell’s Animal Farm for Steppenwolf for Young Adults and Alastair Reynolds’ Diamond Dogs for The House Theatre of Chicago. Low is a member of the Goodman Theatre’s 2019/20 Playwrights Unit.
