Synopsis
Three tales set within the theatrical framework of a company of traveling players headed by Professor Zuccini, impresario. The Flower Sisters: A widow washer-woman and her three daughters are struggling to pay the taxes on their home and about to be evicted. The Devil comes along with a bargain, which the two older sisters take and get trapped in Hell. Will the clever youngest sister be able to free her siblings and steal the Devil's gold in time to save her mother's house from the tax collector? The Pasta Brothers: Two brothers each inherit a bag of gold from their dying father. One brother is smart and ambitious, but makes a poor bet with a local Countess and quickly loses all his money. The other brother, a laid-back bumpkin, makes the same bet and beats the Countess at her own game. The Proud Prince: A prince thinks he is the most clever man alive. He refuses to marry, as all the women he meets aren't "smart enough" for him... until he meets Camellia, the youngest Flower sister, who teaches him humility.
