Synopsis

Blues is about the homeless. Where do they come from? Did they once have homes - like you? Have you ever thought what stands between you and life under a bridge in a cardboard box? People who have nowhere to go when it's bedtime show you and your audiences what to do when your time comes. Jerome McDonough's disquieting style makes us acutely aware of the problems of people in distress. The play takes place in a vacant lot, where street people sometimes gather if it isn't too cold. Will you ever be one of them? It could never happen to you ... could it? Blues is a sort of "Handbook for the Future Homeless." For audiences of adults and young adults and everybody else who cannot be sure what the future holds.

"Our set was a collection of temporary shelters for the homeless created from different materials including wood, metal fence pieces, empty oil-type drums, etc. We incorporated percussion sounds by the cast using these set pieces. "
