Once there was a blacksmith that folks called Wicked John. He was known as a mean and even grumpy man who never got involved with the church. However, he was always kind to strangers. When a saint crosses Wicked John's path, he treats him with such hospitality that he is granted three wishes that later help him evade the devil's capture.
