Here is one of five stories in a collection intended to be presented by an ensemble cast in story theatre style. Once there was a blacksmith that folks called Wicked John. He was known as a mean and even grumpy man who never got involved with the church. However, he was always kind to strangers. When a saint crosses Wicked John's path, he treats him with such hospitality that he is granted three wishes that later help him evade the devil's capture. Wicked John and the Devil includes six lucky volunteers from the audience in John's successful efforts at outsmarting the devil. Unit set. Simple costumes. Suitable for touring. Approximate running time: 15 minutes.
