Fantasy. By Jan Veldman. Translated by Manon van de Water. Concept and direction by Monieck Merkx. Cast: 3m., 3w., 1 musician. In House of Dreams, six colorful characters take the children on a journey through its five rooms, where everything is possible and all your dreams come true. Starting in the Hallway, the audience travels in two groups through the Courtyard, the Kitchen, the Stairway, and the Attic, to meet again in the most wonderful place of all: the Theatre or "The Fifth Room." Each room has its own story, displays its own practical magic, and makes its own appeal to the imagination. Some rooms have fairy tale-like picture boxes to which specific stories are connected, such as the ladybug village in the attic, the fairy tale of the eleven brothers in the courtyard, and the first piece of candy in the kitchen. "If you believe in it, it will come true" is the motto of the House of Dreams. Traveling with the intriguing characters, the children experience this first hand. Approximate running time: 40 minutes.
