Paris of the Lackawanna
Paris of the Lackawanna
This play is published in Electric City Suite (A Collection of Six Radio Plays) (radio manuscript)
Remember the good old days of radio—when people had to use their imaginations—when the mind was a stage? Those days are back—only better! You can SEE as well as HEAR radio programs.
Radio comedy/drama. By Ed Simpson.

Cast: 2m., 1w. Fifteen years later (see Mixed Nuts and Bolts), best friends Bolts and Don enjoy an afternoon of fishing. Don is in a foul mood. His daughter, Maggie, is moving to Chicago to marry a man she's just met on the Internet. As Don struggles with the imminent departure of his beloved daughter, Bolts offers his friendship—and some typically colorful advice. Approximate running time: 30 minutes.

Notes
Some of the advantages to producing radio plays:

One Simple Set—A radio station—made up mostly of drapes, a control booth (if desired), mikes, and sound effects equipment.

Less Wardrobe—no changes of wardrobe are necessary.

Less Staging—actors simply stand at mikes most of the time.

Less Rehearsal—actors don't memorize lines—they just read them.

Fewer Cast Members—one actor plays many parts.

No Props—only scripts.
