Through a sweries of short episodes—some serious, others delightfully funny—an attemp is made to get down to brass tacks: Just what should Thanksgiving Day mean to us? Is it just a day in which school is out and we stuff ourselves with turkey and all the trimmings, or is there more to it than that? Should we be thankful in the glorified soap opera sort of way—and go around saying, "Oh, goody, I don't have a broken leg!"—or does it go deeper? The bare stage of your school auditorium and a few charis and tables are all you need in the way of scenery, for the punch of this play is in the lines—in what the author has to say. We've been searching a long time for a Thanksgiving play that gives the youngsters of today an opportunity to tell how they feel about Thanksgiving.
