Cast: 14m., 14w., flexible. First written about 1340 A.D., this play has been performed every year since. This version keeps all that is distinctive in the great York cycle. The play's climax is at Herod's court where his crafty queen, courtiers and spoiled son plot with him to get the best of the Three Kings and trick them into revealing the Child's birthplace. But an angel brings warning and there is a very joyful conclusion. Bare stage. Approximate Running Time: 70 minutes.
