Comedy. By Jeanne Murray Walker. Cast: 7m., 8w. (or 3m., 4w. with doubling.) Maybe you can't go home again, but when Leonard Milgram is fired by his advertising firm in New York, he does go home. Forced to take a job writing for The Daily Tabloid, he is sent to his old hometown, where he gathers stories from neighbors he always thought of as weird. Among them are Leroy, whose thumb has been bleeding for three years; Mrs. Truax, who sees angels; and Irving Shiffman, the baker, who was trapped in the rubble of a fallen building for 10 days. When Leonard falls in love with the waitress at Edna's Cafe, he learns that strange logic of the spiritual world, which has nothing to do with money or power. As Mrs. Truax announces, "Isn't a single one of us safe from mystery!" Area staging. Approximate running time: 2 hours.
