Judy Matetzschk-Campbell

Judy Matetzschk-Campbell is the producing artistic director of Pollyanna Theatre Company in Austin, Texas. Prior to founding Pollyanna in 2000, she was the director of Project InterAct, Zachary Scott Theatre Center's professional theatre for young audiences program. She has directed the premier productions of more than 20 new plays for young people. Among these are the first professional productions of Sandra Fenichel Asher's In the Garden of the Selfish Giant, Too Many Frogs!, and Jesse and Grace: A Best Friends Story. With a mission of focusing on the development of new plays for young audiences, Pollyanna now serves more than 20,000 children in the Central Texas area each season. Matetzschk-Campbell earned her undergraduate degree in theatre from The University of Kansas and holds a master of fine arts degree in theatre for young audiences as well as a Ph.D. in dramatic text criticism from The University of Texas, where her dissertation focused on new play development techniques and practices. She lives in Manor, Texas, with her wonderful husband, Frank, and their only child, a great dog named Grady.
