Jane Martin

Jane Martin returned to Actors Theatre of Louisville with her latest play, Anton in Show Business, following her premiere of Mr. Bundy in the 22nd Humana Festival. Martin, a Kentuckian, first came to national attention for Talking With, a collection of monologues premiering in the 1982 Humana Festival. Since its New York premiere at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1982, Talking With has been performed around the world, winning the Best Foreign Play of the Year award in Germany from Theater Heute magazine. Martin's Keely and Du, which premiered in the 1993 Humana Festival, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and won the American Theatre Critics Association for Best New Play in 1994. Her play Jack and Jill premiered in the 1996 Humana Festival and won the American Theatre Critics Circle Association Award in 1997. Her other work includes Middle-Aged White Guys, (1995 Humana Festival), Cementville (1991 Humana Festival) and Vital Signs (1990 Humana Festival). Martin's work has been translated into Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Russian and several other languages.
