Local banker Milburn Drysdale and his faithful girl Friday secretary, Jane Hathaway, quickly take control of Jed's finances and do everything to make the Clampetts—and their prized bank account—stay right there in Beverly Hills. But the banker's efforts are imperiled when a couple of crafty con artists cook up a scheme to hoodwink Jed out of his not-so-hard-earned millions. Meanwhile, Jethro's got girl problems (if you call having three beautiful babes chasing you simultaneously a problem), Elly's got growing-up pains, and Granny just wants to go back home to the simple butter-churnin' life she knows and loves. Despite watching his "black gold" turning quickly into blackmail, Jed Clampett remains unruffled because he knows that, in the end, a country boy's always quicker than a city slicker.
