Fantasy. By Clark Fuller with optional music and lyrics by Mark Bucci, based on original music by Paul Dukas. Cast: 2m., 3w., extras. The Sorcerer didn't really want an apprentice, but his daughter kept nagging that she had nobody to play with, so when the widow Smith appeared demanding that her Walter be accepted as an apprentice, the poor old Sorcerer reluctantly agreed. Everyone knows what happened next—the busy Sorcerer put a spell on a broom to make it sweep the floor by itself. So Walter, given the heavy task of filling a caldron of water from the sub-cellar, was presuaded by the Sorcerer's daughter to try his hand at a spell. He enchanted the broom and it started filling the caldron—but he couldn't make it stop! Delightful! Optional music available.
