Comedy. By Anne Coulter Martens. Cast: 9w. (or girls). It's Christmas Eve and the Stewarts are in a perfect dither: Mom is to take the part of Santa Claus in the church program; Constance is to be the Snow Queen, and young Lollie is to recite "I'm a naugh-ty lit-tul brownie"; Petunia, the colored maid, wants someone to hear her practice the one line of the Christmas carol she is to sing and to make sure her halo is on straight. Excited friends keep pouring in. The jarring note is pretty Aunt Sue, who has come to the household for "quiet" after breaking her engagement to young Doctor Bob, who wanted her to help him with his settlement club program instead of dining and dancing at the swanky Hotel Carlton with their friends. How the Christmas spirit finally captures Aunt Sue and patches up the misunderstanding with Doctor Bob makes one of the gayest Christmas plays we've published in years. Approximate running time: 30 minutes.
