Drama. By Robert Kasper. Cast: 2m., 2w. As they await the exact hour at which, a year ago, their son committed suicide, the anxious parents ask themselves again the old question: "Why? Why did he do it?" The father blames the mother's indulgence, but she protests that it was only to balance his sternness that she tried to be gentle with the boy. The father insists that the act sprang from a puppy love affair. But he is fighting the voice of his own conscience, and soon that voice becomes audible to us as we see re-enacted the scene that led to the fatal act. The steady, powerful accumulation of trifles reveals, bit by bit, the reason for the boy's act. The final, terrific revelation caps an unforgettable climax. Approximate running time; 20 minutes.
