Award-winning playwright Jules Tasca is the author of 102 (12 full-length and 92 one-act) published plays which have been produced in numerous national theatres from the Mark Taper Forum to the Bucks County Playhouse, as well as abroad. He has also written for radio and television. His libretto for The Amazing Einstein was the national winner in New York's Performing Arts Repertory Theatre playwriting contest and was performed across the country, including The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. His La Llorona and Maria were presented on National Public Radio, and other one-act pieces were broadcast in Los Angeles and abroad in Germany. His libretto for C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe had its world premiere in California, played in London and New York, and toured nationwide. He was the recipient of a Thespie Award for Best New Play for Theatre Trip, and his play Old Goat Song won a Drama Critics Award in Los Angeles. Most recently, his play The Spelling of Coynes was included in an anthology entitled The Best American Short Plays. Tasca, a member of The Dramatists Guild, has taught playwriting at Oxford University in England and has performed with a commedia dell'arte group in central Italy.
