Robert Thomas Noll

Robert Thomas Noll has won more than 34 national and international awards including a Silver Medal at the International Film and Television Festival of New York, a Golden Eagle Award from CINE, a National Education Association National Award, a national Telly Award and nine Emmy Awards. His 29 produced plays have been performed thousands of times throughout the United States (including six New York productions), Canada and Europe. Seven have been published (three by Dramatic Publishing: Oliver Twist, Circus Time!, and Balto: The Dog That Saved Nome, Alaska). Three of his plays have aired on radio and one was taped and televised by NBC. In television, he has produced and written hundreds of programs including the nationally syndicated NBC dramatic children's series "Hickory Hideout." Four of his screenplays have been produced as films. Noll teaches in the Tim Russert Department of Communications and Theatre at John Carroll University, where he also serves as adviser to their award-winning newspaper The Carroll News. He also coordinates the annual Urban Journalism program with the Cleveland chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Noll spent nearly 20 years teaching playwriting at the Cleveland Play House. He has been the screenwriting instructor for the Cleveland filmmakers and artist-in-residence at the Cleveland School of the Arts. He has lectured and taught at more than a dozen other colleges and universities. He has degrees from Kent State University and Ohio University. He has been a public relations and marketing consultant for 26 Broadway shows and has written and edited publications for the education department of Playhouse Square Center and Radio City Music Hall. He is a member of The Dramatist Guild.
