Joanna H. Kraus is the award-winning author of 14 published and internationally produced plays. Her popular play The Ice Wolf appears in New Women's Theatre, Dramatic Literature for Children, Around the World in 21 Plays and Theatre for Young Audiences: 25 Great Plays for Children. It was first produced off-off-Broadway and is published in an acting edition by Dramatic Publishing. Remember My Name was produced off-off-Broadway, won first prize in the IUPUI national playwriting competition and is published in an acting edition by Samuel French. Winner of the 1996 Distinguished Play Award from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education, Angel in the Night was commissioned by the Honor of Humanity project under the direction of National Louis University in affiliation with the Avenue of the Righteous and is published in an acting edition by Dramatic Publishing. Her recent picture book is A Night of Tamales and Roses (Shenanigan Books, 2007). Her latest project is the Plays Plus Educational Edition of Secrets with resource material by Cecily O'Neill, forthcoming from HarperCollins Publishers Ltd. She also has a new picture book, Blue Toboggan (Shenanigan Books, 2010). Kraus is professor emeritus of theatre and former graduate coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Arts for Children program, College at Brockport State University of New York, and was the 1995 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York State Theatre Education Association.
