I grew up in Los Angeles where I turned down numerous movie roles because I liked working in a car wash. After high school (Simi Valley), I joined the army and went to Vietnam, where I turned down numerous offers to be a hero because I was a fraidy cat. After the war I became a cop in Texas and scared the hell out of speeding teenagers. Then I went to college, got married and published my first play. After publishing twenty-three more for Dramatic, I decided to go to law school. I'm still married to Karen and have one son, Buckley. I now practice law in beautiful downtown Jefferson, Texas (population 2100).
