Jill Jaysen, an award-winning playwright and director, founded Center Stage Theatre Company in Westport, Conn., with the vision of awakening dreams for all who experience it. Jaysen is a strong proponent of creating new works while involving her students in the creative process. Since 2005, the company's original musicals have received multiple recognition from the Moss Hart Memorial Award (often referred to as the Tony Award for New England), the York Theatre Company in New York City and the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Jaysen comes from a diversified background, encompassing both the professional world and the performing arts. She is a public-speaking coach, the founder of Optimum Edge Communications, a member of the board of directors of the National Music Theater Network in New York City and a former stockbroker.
