Kal Wagenheim (pictured with his wife Olga and their grandchildren) was born in Newark, N.J. He is a journalist (formerly with The New York Times), author and translator of eight books, and nine plays and screenplays. His plays, Bavarian Rage, Coffee With God, We Beat Whitey Ford and Wegotdates.com, have been produced off-off-Broadway. His biography of Babe Ruth was a Playboy Book Club selection and was adapted for an NBC-TV film. He also taught journalism and creative writing at Columbia University's Writing Division, School of the Arts, and directed a monthly creative-writing workshop at New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, N.J. He is a member of PEN American Center and The Dramatists Guild of America.
