After graduating from college Sy Rosen joined the army reserves and then became a social worker for about three years. He then worked as a personnel manager for General Electric but soon discovered that the business world was not for him. For the past 25 years or so he's been a TV writer/producer. He has written episodes for "The Bob Newhart Show," "Taxi," "Rhoda," "M*A*S*H," "Maude," "Sanford," "The Wonder Years," "Northern Exposure," "Sister/Sister," "Frasier" and dozens of other shows. He has also produced "The Jeffersons," co­created "Gimme a Break," co-executive produced "The Wonder Years," executive produced "Sister/Sister" and produced the MTV series "2Gether" as well as many other shows. During the past few years Rosen has turned to playwriting and has found the experience both "exhilarating and scary." "Playwriting reflects your own personality and ideas much more than writing for TV," he says.
