Elise Forier wrote her first play when she was six years old and was lucky enough to have an enterprising fourth- grader agree to produce it. Since then, her plays and musicals have been produced all over the country—in New York and Los Angeles, as well as such far-flung places as Jonesboro, Arkansas, and McCall, Idaho. She has won playwriting awards from the Columbia Entertainment Company, the Bonder­man/IRT/IUPUI Children's Playwriting Symposium, the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference and the Arizona Commission on the Arts. She has twice been invited to develop her scripts at the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. Elise has traveled all over the world and worked as a singer, hotel maid, teacher and career counselor, as well as a writer. She currently lives in Tacoma, Washington, with her daughter, Genevieve, in a wooden house with a plum tree in the yard.
